PM and AM of Titanium Conference Registration Opens

Registration is now open for the conference PMTi2019: Powder Metallurgy and Additive Manufacturing of Titanium. After four successful conferences held in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, and China, this global conference will be held for the very first time in the United States in Salt Lake City at the University of Utah September 24–27, 2019.

APMI International Names 2019 Fellows

APMI International's most prestigious award recognizes APMI members for their significant contributions to the goals, purpose, and mission of the organization as well as for a high level of expertise in the technology, practice, or business of the industry. The 2019 Fellow Award recipients will receive elevation to Fellow status at POWDERMET2019: International Conference on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials during the Industry Luncheon on Tuesday, June 25. The 2019 recipients are Joseph Tunick Strauss and John L. Johnson.

New Publication: A Collection of Powder Characterization Standards for Metal Additive Manufacturing

A Collection of Powder Characterization Standards for Metal Additive Manufacturing contains nine existing MPIF Standard Test Methods can be applicable for the characterization of powders used in metal additive manufacturing (AM) processes, with an explanation of each standard. These standards, intended to present and clarify PM technology as an aid in conducting business, relate to those activities that concern designers, manufacturers, and users of metal AM parts.

Navajo Technical University to Build Center for Advanced Manufacturing

The Navajo Technical University (NTU), Crownpoint, New Mexico, has announced their procurement of a $3.5 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) to establish the NTU Center for Advanced Manufacturing, as well as the development of an associate of applied science degree and a four-year degree in mechanical engineering.
