New Book: Binder and Polymer Assisted Powder Processing

 

Randall M. German, FAPMI, and Animesh Bose, FAPMI, have released a new book titled Binder and Polymer Assisted Powder Processing. This book focuses on the basic principles and options available for the application of polymers and natural organics to powder processing. It links the material, powder characteristics, forming process, and product attributes together to give the first unified treatment on polymer assisted powder processing.

Webinar Series Builds Interest

Last month the Metal Powder Industries Federation and APMI International launched an on-going webinar series for members with themes ranging from technical topics (Powder Production for AM, PM & MIM; Ferrous Materials and Properties) to explorations of member benefits. Since the program began four weeks ago, over 750 MPIF and APMI International members have taken advantage of this complimentary program.

CPMT Technology Focus Meeting Going VIRTUAL

While company travel bans and social distancing practices are in place, we need to find new ways to advance powder metallurgy technology. The Center for Powder Metallurgy Technology (CPMT) will hold a virtual Technology Focus Meeting (TFM) on June 30, 2020 from 1:00-3:30 p.m. EST.

2020 Basic PM Short Course Registration Opens

The powder metallurgy (PM) industry’s leading short course returns to State College, Pennsylvania, this August to bring together new PM employees and those seeking to enhance their depth of knowledge and advance their careers in the industry. Held at Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, State College, Pennsylvania, this intensive three-day course will run from August 10 through August 12, 2020.

Technical Program Underway for Largest Global PM Event

The Technical Program Committees for the largest global powder metallurgy event of the year, WorldPM2020, AMPM2020 and Tungsten2020, met recently to assemble the program for the June 27–July 1 co-located conferences in Montréal. Nearly 115 industry experts met to review abstracts.
