Basic PM Short Course Celebrates 62 Years of Industry Education

Now in its 62nd year, the MPIF Basic Powder Metallurgy Short Course continues to serve as a valuable educational resource for professionals across the powder metallurgy industry. MPIF recently hosted the course August 10–12 in State College, Pennsylvania, bringing together attendees from a wide range of companies and industry sectors.

Attendees included representatives from powder producers, PM and MIM parts producers, permanent magnet manufacturers, equipment suppliers, and end users. Throughout the program, attendees gained a strong understanding of the fundamentals of metal powder production, from initial powder production through the completion of finished products across multiple forming technologies.

The course offered an excellent opportunity for participants to build technical knowledge, engage with industry experts, and connect with peers from across the PM supply chain. Designed for those who are new to the industry, as well as professionals seeking to broaden their expertise, the Basic Course provides a practical and comprehensive foundation in PM.

With more than six decades of success, the program remains an important part of MPIF’s commitment to education, professional development, and the continued growth of the PM community.
