Thursday, June 4, 2026 Greene Group Industries Materials Engineer – MIM / Powder Metallurgy Materials Engineer – MIM / Powder Metallurgy https://www.greenegroup.com Location: Port Huron, MI Key Responsibilities o Execute and analyze engineering department needs for chemical, mechanical and metallurgical testing activities. o Responsible for designing and developing products as well as the appropriate staging and/or tooling required to support the product through the MIM process. o Setup and optimize sintering programs for MIM components. o Develop and adopt new alloys for MIM. o Evaluate alternative ideas to develop the most promising MIM design approach. o Analyze data to determine root causes of problems to develop solutions for metallurgical components, processes and manufacturing systems. o Serve as technical advisor to engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain for product and process issues. o Work with NPI and APQP processes to help develop PFMEA’s and product design validation requirements. o Participate in post-test reviews including failure analysis and work closely with suppliers and manufacturing to ensure designs are robust and able to be manufactured. o Interface with tool shop for design and creation of new tooling. Required Qualifications o Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Metallurgical or Material Science. 5 – 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with medical device manufacturing preferred. o Experience in manufacturing processes such as MIM, Powder metallurgy or Investment casting or alloy development is preferred. o Experience in heat treating, sintering, surface engineering and finishing is desirable. o Strong understanding of metallurgical properties and composition as well as related heat treatment and sintering processes. o Experience with Metallography, mechanical testing of materials, laboratory experience is required. o Ability to coordinate and work on numerous projects simultaneously.
